Spend The 4th Of July In Pawley’s Island
While many people will stay home for the 4th of July this year, others will want to take the opportunity to vacation. Pawley’s Island offers a great getaway for a 4th of July celebration.
Start your day by checking out the parade. Pawley’s Island boasts one of the best 4th of July parades you will find in South Carolina. The parade starts around 10:00AM and folks can watch as the many locally sponsored floats drive by. Keep an eye out for the best musical float because the winners of that contest will take home $250! Another parade you may want to check out is in Murrells Inlet just up the road from Pawley’s Island. Murrells Inlet has a boat parade annually on the 4th of July which brings out many residents and 4th of July vacationers. This parade starts around the same time as the Pawley’s Island parade and travels down the Murrells Inlet shoreline, so you will have to make the tough decision of which parade to attend.
There will also be a chance to celebrate America’s birthday with a “Salute from the shore!” A flyover will be performed by F-16 Fighter Jets from the 77th Fighter Squadron. Wear your red, white and blue and get out there to wave to the heroes that protect our great nation every day. This is a tribute to our military and armed forces stationed across the globe.
And since it is the 4th of July, there is one thing that everyone is looking forward to, Fireworks! Firework displays will be happening in Murrells Inlet and all around the Grand Strand.
Murrells Inlet has its very own fireworks display that is shot from the tip of the Veterans Pier. This display kicks off around 10:00PM and can be seen from many places around the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk and surrounding businesses.
Pawley’s Island is just a short drive from Myrtle Beach where there are quite a few professional fireworks displays to admire, as well as many locals and vacationers who will certainly have their own displays happening on the beach. Myrtle Beach on the 4th of July is a sight few could forget. There are fireworks being shot all along the coast as far the eye can see. It is a true celebration for all involved.
